Suzanne McCourt loved growing up in the rich cultural and lush environment of the Pacific Northwest. Her first acknowledgement as an artist came at the age of 6 when she won a bike for 2nd place in an All-State drawing contest for drawing her cat drinking milk, sponsored by Mayflower Milk & Oregon Dairy Farmer’s Association. The bike was too big, and she could not ride it for two more years!

Suzanne paints in various mediums: acrylic, mixed media, collage, charcoal on canvas, watercolors. She captures spirit and expression in her work through her impressionistic brushwork and gestural qualities. provided Mears with an unending flood of ideas, as well as a fascination for history and archaeology. She incorporates these ideas into her glass designs and multi-layering technique.
